We took these shots in early October when my cousin Vanessa and our friend Rubern made a trip down to Perth. We took them out for lunch to this place called 'Little Creatures'. Little creatures brews their own beer, has great food and has a fantastic environment to 'chill' out. I highly recommend this place :)) visit https://www.littlecreatures.com.au for more details. ;p

Our friends Arul & Sheila had their house warming party last Saturday. They decided to coincide it with Deepavali. Deepavali is the festival of lights.
Why is Deepavali celebrated? The story goes that Narakasura, a demon, ruled the kingdom of Pradyoshapuram. Under his rule, the villagers suffered a lot of hardship as the demon tortured the people and kidnapped the women to be imprisoned in his palace. Seeing his wickedness, Lord Khrishna set out to destroy the demon and the day Narakasura died was celebrated as Deepavali, the triumph of good over evil!

These are some photographs from the preparation the day before. :)

Kolam is an auspious art form used in house holds during festive seasons. It is designed using coloured rice.

I was amazed how patient Suja was creating this 'kolam'! My back was aching after just a little while!

Got this shot when Sheila was preparing to decorate the kolam with the light green coloured rice.

Thanks to Suja's determination, the kolam was completed! ;p

Lord Ganesha - This God of knowledge and the remover of obstacles is also the older son of Lord Shiva. Lord Ganesha is also called Vinayagar ( knowledgeable ) or Vighneshwer (god to remove obstacles). He is worshipped in the beginning of any auspicious performance for blessings and auspiciousness.
Just a random shot of Sonila through the peacocok feathers. ;p
I will post more photos of the actual day of this joyous occasion soon.

Towering forests and white sandy beaches make Walpole an idyllic place for a relaxing getaway. Surrounded by national parks and State forests, the tranquil rivers and inlet offers world-class fishing, canoeing, white-water rafting, bushwalking, power boating and sailing.
Here are some of our favourite shots in Walpole during our caravan trip last April :) These were taken in the Restpoint Caravan Park. It was beautiful and serene.
