I was taken into a room where Dr. J Butler administered the epidural. When the dr started the procedure I was really nervous..all I could think of was "Please dont pass out!!". I must say it was a very uncomfortable kind of pain...its hard to explain...I had to sit up on the OT bed. My hubby was standing in front of me. He first numbed the area and then started the procedure...I could feel the pressure that the Dr was placing on my back to push the epidural tube in..I nearly fell of the table!!! Listening to all my groaning...my hubby was feeling faint and had to lie down. was then wheeled into the OT. The Dr used a cold pack to test that the epidural has taken effect. After several rounds of testing and increasing the dosage, I could still feel the upper right side of my stomach. They decided to go ahead with the op and if I was in pain, the Dr would then administer GA. As soon as Dr. C Harris (my O&G) arrived, they started the C Section. While going through the C Section, I was moaning in pain, so Dr. J Butler requested that I undergo GA. Hubby agreed and apparently I agreed too...but I can't remember saying anything. Usually if GA is given, the husband must leave the room. My husband put on the saddest face possible when the nurse asked him to leave.. lol! Dr J Butler said he could stay but will have to sit at one corner of the room...and so he did. He had the perfect view from where he sat..he snapped photos of our baby being taken out! He said it was an amazing thing to watch! lol!
It was all over within 5 minutes! Our baby was out but I was knocked out!!
